RELAY : free improvisation meeting _ 연주회 릴레이
RELAY는 전자즉흥음악을 중심으로 일상 속의 미디어들을 연주의 도구로서 이해하는 국내외 뮤지션, 미디어 아티스트들의 정기 연주회입니다. 여기에서 연주(play)는 어떤 악기 또는 그에 준하는 음악을 위한 어떤 것을 연주한다라는 개념 뿐만이 아니라 놀이 또는 실험과 행위의 개념과 같은 포괄적인 의미로서 사용되며 연주자들은 음악 뿐만이 아닌 영상의 연주 또는 퍼포먼스 등의 방식을 이용하기도 합니다. 이런 생각을 바탕으로 연주자들은 자신만의 미디어를 이용하는 음악적, 시각적 연주방법을 개발하고 정기적으로 한 자리에 모여 즉흥적인 연주를 시도 함으로서 새로운 디지털 미디어 또는 전용 가능한 아날로그 미디어의 미적 가능성과 상상력을 자극할 수 있는 순간을 만들고자 합니다.
RELAY is a monthly meeting of musicians and media artists who understand media in everyday life as instruments of playing. Here, ‘playing’ refers not only to the conventional meaning of activity with the musical instruments, but also to the generalized meaning including playing a game, or audio-video experimentations and performances. Based on these conceptions, the players convene every month for collaborative improvisation and test the aesthetic possibility of new digital media and appropriable analogue media.

류한길, 진상태, 최정호로 구성된 도시표류 프로젝트 그룹으로서 미디어의 발달과 그것에 근거하는 일상적 도시생활이 감각의 압축을 일으킨다라는 전제하에서 압축감각의 맥락들을 찾아내고 그것을 새롭게 전용하거나 전용의 방법을 개발하여 새로운 감각의 영역을 찾아보기 위한 미디어 퍼포먼스 그룹입니다.
Horizon drowner is the urban drifting project group consisting of Ryu Hankil, Jin Sangtae, and Choi Jungho. HD as a media performance group explores the new realm of perception through the appropriation of the context of compressed perception in every day experiences of urban life caused by the development of media.
