마티야 쉘렌더 / 오스트리아 출신의 작곡가. 즉흥음악가. 더블 베이스와 모듈러 신디사이저를 주요 사용하며 솔로 뮤지션으로서의 활동과 여러 그룹 프로젝트를 통해 세계적인 활동을 진행해왔다. 연주를 공간, 시간, 움직임, 빛의 감각으로까지 확장하는 개념적인 작업을 진행하고 있다.

Matija Schellander is an Austrian composer and improvising musician based in Vienna, mostly using double bass, modular synthesizer,and speakers: processing input, moving air output.
He has studied double bass at the Konservatorium Vienna Private University and computer music at the University of music in Vienna.
Schellander has composed electronic and instrumental solo works, music for dance performances and films.
He regularly works solo and in the duos Rdeča Raketa (electroacoustic project with Maja Osojnik), with Enrico Malatesta (percussion / double bass) and with a sound/performance project with Choi Joonyong as well as the ensemble Low Frequency Orchestra (Castello/Grill/Osojnik/Schellander).
Other recent collaborations include Okkyung Lee, Burkhard Stangl, Isabelle Duthoit, Franz Hautzinger, Michael Thieke, Klaus Filip, Dieb13, Ryu Hankil, Christof Kurzmann, Jorge Sanchez-Chiong, Noid, Bernhard Lang…
